Tara Johnson supports housing Inmates in North Side neighborhood.

Tara Johnson – Padesky voted a resounding YES to housing convicted felons in a residential neighborhood instead of jail even though there was opposition from those who live in the area.

Do we need a senator who favors felons living in your back yard, but not hers?
Do we need a senator who favors a sexist (women only) policy?

Let us not forget that she is also receiving monies from Tim Gill, a gay rights advocate who is working towards advancing his gay rights agenda through state elections as an end run. I spoke with her campaign who said that she is not receiving money from anyone named Tim Gill and that unfortunately, the current state of politics requires large sums of money to stay competitive. I have two questions. First, what ever happened to getting out and pressing the flesh or conducting your own press conferences or stump events to get your name out there to the people who will vote for you? I have more respect for a candidate who is willing to come to my neighborhood and shake my hand while telling me what he or she is willing to accomplish should they get my vote. Two, why is Tara Johnson taking money from out of state anyway for a office within the borders of the state of Wisconsin? Telling me that they are not receiving money from anyone named Tim Gill is pointless and does nothing to lessen my fears because names can be changed or hidden and surrogate donors can be used with no ties to the candidate. I think that if Tara Johnson is serious about being anything more than just another person who wants to be a politician forever, she could take steps now to show us, the voters, what she is really about. I haven't seen that from her.
Renounce money from out of state groups or individuals who want to donate to your campaign, show some gumption and swear off out of state donations and then give any monies donated from out of state back. I want politicians who go in, do their service to their country, fulfill their terms and then walk away without seeking continuous terms in which they do nothing. Get out and actually meet the people whose votes you want and tell us what you want to do and be specific. Then, do something unheard of in politics and actually do what you say you want to do. If she could do that, I might consider her as a candidate but she hasn't even come remotely close to doing anything like that and that says volumes. My vote will be going to Dan Kapanke.
