Johnson claims Higher Taxes saves money

Tara Johnson - Padesky claims on increasing taxes: "I am voting for this budget with great appreciation that we are not having to make tougher decisions than we have already made." Can she be serious? She appreciates not having to make the tough decisions, WOW, we thought that's what she was elected to do....
In addition, Johnson believes it "saves us money and improves on the quality of services we provide." Ask Johnson - Padesky to explain how RAISING TAXES "saves us money," but don't be surprised when she can't.

Johnson finds limits on property tax increases humorous.

In a recent interview with WKBT television, Tara Johnson – Padesky was clear that she opposes state caps on how much local government can raise property taxes. We here at Johnson Watch do not find being taxed out of your home to be a “laughing” matter

Johnson DOES/WILL NOT protect and defend the constitution of the State of Wisconsin.

In a recent interview with WKBT television, Tara Johnson – Padesky was clear that she opposes your innate right to self-defense. Johnson’s position is "Guns used for sporting and hunting exclusively," clearly in opposition to Article 1, Section 25 of the state constitution.

Johnson Tougher on the taxpayer

Tara Johnson – Padesky claims, "she'll force oil companies to pay their fair share in taxes." The problem is, Johnson doesn't understand how business works.

Increasing taxes on oil companies will increase their costs, and businesses must pass all costs onto the consumer to stay profitable, so you and I will pay Johnson's tough tax at the pump.

Johnson LIES about reducing taxes.

In a recent campaign flier, Tara Johnson – Padesky claims to have provided healthcare and reduced taxes since being on the County Board. The truth is, that she has voted YES to increase the tax levy (total dollars spent) each year since 2001 and the average La Crosse County resident has seen a tax increase of $187 during Johnson’s tenure. That is NOT tax reduction.

Johnson LIED about not being a Democrat.

On September 11, 2008 the Tribune ran an editorial concerning Tara Johnson - Padesky. To quote the article, "noted that she didn't have a "D" after her name until she ran for Senate." This is a blatant LIE to the paper and the public.

We found documents on the La Crosse County Democratic Party web site showing Tara Johnson and her husband Tim Padesky hosted a Democratic Party fundraiser with Herb Kohl in October of 2007.

"Thanks to Vicki Burke, John Medinger, Sharon Hampson, Margaret Wood and Tim Padesky and Tara Johnson for sponsoring the LCDP Pizza Fundraiser with Herb Kohl on October 9 at Big Al's. It was a great financial success for the LCDP."

Not only was Tara Johnson - Padesky a Democrat in 2007, but she was fundraising for the Democratic Party

She has lied to the press and the public. Does Wisconsin really want a senator who would LIE to win an election?

Tara Johnson supports housing Inmates in North Side neighborhood.

Tara Johnson – Padesky voted a resounding YES to housing convicted felons in a residential neighborhood instead of jail even though there was opposition from those who live in the area.

Tara Johnson – Padesky was again silent today as the Democratic Congress decided it was more important to bail out foolish lenders and borrowers that is was to give aid to actual disaster victims from the Spring 2008 floods in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois.
